Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a research-based therapy that uses principles of learning to increase positive behaviors and decrease problematic ones, often used to help individuals with autism and other developmental disorders. ABA involves breaking skills into smaller parts and teaching them systematically, using positive reinforcement to encourage desired actions like communication or social skills, and decreasing unwanted behaviors. It is an intensive and individualized treatment that collects data to measure progress and can be implemented in various settings like home, school, or the community.
